Orion's Void

A possible re-branding (week 7)

I might have to rebrand this blog of mine. The SEO is just terrible, and I don’t know what to do about it. Previously, when I was using Ghost and a different domain, everything was perfect. When you Googled the website, it popped as the first result alongside recent posts. I think that the (s) in Orion’s Void is the main issue, or perhaps Ghost has unmatched SEO. Maybe the plugin I’m currently using is garbage. I will try installing WordPress under that domain and mirror all content there. If the issue persists, I will try a different SEO plugin and then potentially Ghost again.

Habitica works

I didn’t expect it, but Habitica actually helps me to stay motivated and procrastinate less. The consequences of me not doing a task to my character are motivating me the most. I don’t want to lose all my gold and 1 level. I don’t wanna let my party down by dealing damage to their characters as well. Oh yeah, I formed a group/party on Habitica. Currently, I have around 10 people in the group. We mostly do just quests and occasionally say a word or two. Actually, I played 1 game of chess with one of the members today. And also I started playing chess LOL. I don’t sweat it, I just play a few games a day.

Learning Blender again?

I didn’t give up on Blender. I just took a short (2 weeks) break from it. The donut tutorial from Blender Guru is great, but it didn’t fit my style of learning. I don’t wanna just mindlessly follow instructions I barely understand. So I started learning Blender more hands on. I still look up tutorials, but more for specific things that I don’t know how to do.

Some ugly model I made in Blender

Today I learned about scaling to appropriate dimensions. You see, in Blender you usually start with a gigantic cube and a massive grid. The model above has proper size for 3D printing.

Getting rid of Instagram (again)

It’s just too addictive, and I can’t help myself. So yesterday, I uninstalled Instagram again. I want to stay off for at least a week. One of the principles of Atomic Habits is to make bad habits difficult and unappealing. Really marvelous book, helped me develop a habit of reading it, funnily enough.
