The more I do, the happier I feel (week 4)
Slow and little progress is still progress. This week, I’ve experienced that if you wish to form a new habit, it is better to start small. It is then easier to keep consistency. I started reading again, and I only read a couple of pages each day. This helped me to read at least something rather than nothing, and feel guilty about it later.
The pain of regret is worse than the pain of taking action. I sleep more soundly, knowing that I gave my everything.
I Switched to WordPress
After some careful consideration, I switched to WordPress and I love it. It is like Ghost I was using previously but better. Or at least better in areas I care for, which is high customizability and easy setup. The current look of Orion’s Void will likely be temporary. As of writing this post, I’m using Cue theme which meets most of my requirements, but I’m going to have to change a few details or change the theme entirely. WordPress provides a lot of things by default. Such as comments, basic user management system, GDPR compliancy, but I still had to install 6 plugins to make it perfect. Which I of course don’t see as a downside in the slightest. I love things which I can make mine.
University fair
This Tuesday I was at Gaudeamus which is a fair of universities. I don’t plan on continuing my studies after high school, but it was nice to get some perspective and to explore all options, and also to skip school. I wouldn’t mentally handle another 4 years in a school environment. Furthermore, I don’t mind the studying part, but I really dislike most people of my age. I took as many promotional pens and pencils I could, and now I won’t have to buy a ballpoint for another 3 years, LOL.
Started meditating
Another new habit which I’m trying to cultivate is meditation. I dedicate 10 minutes a day to meditation. It is really pleasant to pause for a second and shut off your brain. It is a nice refresh after a busy day.
More content coming soon…
This week, I’ll be publishing one additional article alongside the usual weekly update. Very likely, it will be a “review” of 10 open-source video games I found this month.
